The Importance Of A Fresh Stall

Just like our own living space, it’s important to stay on top and clean it on a regular basis to allow us to live in a disinfected, fresh environment. Well, it’s no different for horses and the stalls that they live in. These stalls need to be kept clean and fresh on a regular basis. Even though cleaning your horses’ stall might seem like a menial and annoying task to get done, it’s vitally important to the overall health of your horse(s). If you do not keep up with cleaning your horse’s stall, this will lead to a build-up of muck and dirt, which can lead to infections and other health problems for any horses that you have. Some of these health problems include cellulitis, respiratory issues, skin problems, and even thrush, just to name a few. This is why keeping on top of your stall isn’t just for the horse(s) living in a clean environment, but to help prevent any health risk that can come from an unattended stall.

Step-By-Step Guide

Step 1: Open up a bag of Stall Dry, scoop up a cup of the stall dry absorbent and deodorizer, and shake the stall dry over the area in the stall that you want to clean up.

Step 2: Muck the area in your stall with a pitchfork removing any manure, wet soil, and soiled bedding material. Make sure if you use any sawdust or shavings in your horse stall to remove them with a shavings fork. This will clear the area of any debris and allow us to move forward with cleaning the stall.

Step 3: Toss and mix together the Stall Dry with your existing bedding material that you use in your stall. This will allow the Stall Dry to refresh the entire area, which will eliminate odors, absorb the moisture, and reduce any ammonia levels that are present within the stall.

Step 4: Put away your Stall Dry and remove all of the items you were using to clean up the stall. By now, you can lead your horse(s) back into their stall as their area is ready for them all clean and fresh!
